I can't express how much this wedding changed my life. I think sometimes you are put in the right place at the right time and everything unfolds, and becomes a gift.
I meet Chrissy on the day of her trial at Joya Beauty with the owner Joanne McDonough, Chrissy's Makeup Artist and I was her Bridal Hair Artist. We talked about her look for the day. Chrissy wanted relaxed, lived in curls. Half up half down and we added fresh flowers to finish. Next, she told me about the venue, Camp Birch Hill in New Durham, NH. A sleep away summer camp her Family owns and runs. I never went to summer camp, I always wanted to. I looked up the camp and looked through all the freckled smiling faces of kids without a care in the world, a seed was planted. On the day of the wedding we set up in the camp recreation room with a view of the pickle ball court. We had a great time with lots of laughing. Chrissy's friend Ferg was officiating the wedding and she wore a beautiful flower crown. After the Bride was dressed and ready to go she made sure that Joanne and myself were invited to the ceremony. We did attend, she made me feel I wasn't someone she hired, I was a guest and a friend. Fast forward... to being chosen for The Knot's "50 best Weddings in 50 states" AND the wedding was featured in The Knot Magazine! Amazing, I was so excited to be published. See the wedding album www.theknot.com/real-weddings/a-romantic-waterfront-wedding-at-camp-birch-hill-in-new-durham-new-hampshire-album The best part is that last year my Daughter spent 2 weeks at Camp Birch Hill and this summer my Son and Daughter are both going to be yelling Yahoo! at Camp Birch Hill without a care in the world. I don't think I would have let go of my children if I didn't have someone I trusted looking after them.
